Good afternoon Monarchs,


I hope everybody had a great weekend.  As the public health situation develops, I will be sure to update the community with any new information.  We are going to begin letting students on campus for some activities and athletics.   Here are this week’s updates:


Return to Activities/Athletics:  Coaches, band directors and activity directors may begin a slow return to campus.  At Rancho Campana, each teacher supervisor will devise a safe back to school plan with no more than 14 students at a time and with all activities conducted outdoors.   Students will be notified by their supervisors about how and when to return.  Students who play sports at other sites should check in with their coaches to be sure they are aware of practice schedules.


Attendance Update:   Our absence notification system has been activated.  Parents will receive notices via Parent Square by email, voice message, text or app notification, depending on your set personal preference. Please be sure to register your accounts.  Parents always have access to their student’s attendance records in ParentVue.  Calls are made around 4:00 PM before attendance is officially updated. If you believe you have received a call in error please check ParentVue then contact our attendance clerk Sandra Scheinert at sandra.scheinert@oxnardunion.org.

 


Digital Back to School Night:  Rancho Campana will be hosting a digital Back to School Night on Thursday, September 17th at 6:30 PM.  Our teachers will post a slide in their agendas that will include a video, their class and contact information.  Parents will be able to view class agendas and review the content at their own leisure.  I will be posting a welcome video on Thursday to mark the day.  You will be able to find all of this info on the back to school slide on our website here.


School Site Council:   We are in need of one to two parents for School Site Council representation.  The School Site Council serves the students and the school by developing the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) with teachers and support staff, implementing and monitoring the SPSA and evaluating the SPSA to see if SPSA goals are met.  Parent members of the SSC are expected to attend the meetings once month, learn about the SPSA through trainings and information shared at SSC meetings, represent parents in the neighborhood and community and actively participate in SSC responsibilities.   Please email me by Friday September 25th if you are interested.  We will hold an election if we have more than two community members.

Measure A Update:  The office lobby security enhancements are completed, relocateable classrooms for construction staging has been provided, additional security shades and tinting for all windows is complete, HVAC modernization is under construction and site utilities such as power, gas and fire alarm are reviewed with HVAC modernization
