Weekly Update 10-12-2020

Good afternoon Monarchs,

I have a short update today.  Rancho Campana is continuing to support our students in the best way possible.  We appreciate our staff and students.

PTA Reflections Program:  RCHS PTSA is promoting the reflections program.  This is an opportunity for students to showcase their artistic talents in one or more of the available categories: Dance, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Students may submit up to 3 pieces. Student’s work will be judged and winners at the school level will have the opportunity to move up through their district, region, and state PTA programs to the national level.

This year all Reflections pieces will be submitted electronically. Online entry form: https://forms.gle/ehxoRuG4E84mdep58

All categories will require a file upload that will be submitted through the online entry form. Visual Art pieces will need to be photographed and the photos of the pieces will be the submission.

If there are any questions or you need help accessing the online entry form please contact

Covitality Survey:  Our school is interested in the behavioral and emotional health of our students. This year, Rancho Campana will be participating in a brief universal screening survey for measuring behavioral and emotional strengths in adolescents during first period, on October 15th. All students who agree to participate will complete a short survey online. This survey has been approved by Oxnard Union High School District in collaboration with researchers from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).

Your child does not have to participate. Participation in the survey is voluntary and opting out will not impact your child’s academic status or access to support at school. Prior to taking the survey, all students will be informed that participation is voluntary and that opting out will in no way impact their standing at school. All information collected will be kept confidential. If you would like to opt out, please fill out this link.

Parent Project:  OUHSD is hosting Parent Project, virtual meetings designed to help parents and teenagers work better together.  If you are interested, please view the attached flier.

Measure A Update:  The office lobby security enhancements are completed, relocateable classrooms for construction staging has been provided, additional security shades and tinting for all windows is complete, HVAC modernization is under construction and site utilities such as power, gas and fire alarm are reviewed with HVAC modernization

It’s a pleasure to serve the Rancho Campana Community!!! #Train2Reign
