Hopefully everybody was able to have a well-deserved break, and is rested and ready to spearhead the remaining three weeks of the trimester. Here are the weekly updates:
Counselor Meetings Continue This Week: Class of 2023 (current 10th graders) will be meeting with their counselors to discuss their course requests. Students with last name A – K will be meeting with Ms. Leader (Zoom link here) and students with last name L – Z will be meeting with Ms. Dominguez (Zoom link here). The schedule is:
Class of 2023: 2/22 – 2/26
Class of 2024: 3/1 – 3/5
Be ready with your course selection form and questions for your appointment. There will be no make-ups. Please remember to log in during the scheduled time, notify your teacher and they will clear any absence. The updated schedule can be found here at our course selection page under each individual grade. The schedule is listed by student ID number.
Don’t miss your meeting, it’s your opportunity to ask any questions you have to your counselor!
Bring Change to Mind Week 2021: Bring Change to Mind Week 2021 is here this week and this year’s theme is Intersectionality and Mental Health! Bring Change to Mind Week will be a week-long event from February 22nd – 26th, 2021. There will be a few clubs and organizations featured throughout the week such as Bring Change to Mind, HOPE Club, SAGA, and Peer to Peer! Please see the attached flyer for each day’s theme.
Congratulations to the RCHS Academic Decathlon Team: The RCHS Academic Decathlon team had a great showing in the county competition registering a fourth-place result. This has qualified them for the state competition. Good luck and great job!
Art/Essay Contest from Saving Lives Camarillo: This year saving lives Camarillo is holding an essay/art contest centering around mental health and what happiness looks like to each individual. The contest is open to RCHS and ACHS students. The deadline to enter is March 15th. See the attached flyer for more details.
Parent Project: OUHSD will host virtual meetings helping to empower parents. The goal is to provide parents with strategies to help a teenage child and provide resources to families that are struggling. See the attached flyer for more details.
Senior Slides: This year’s seniors are being asked to complete 2 slides:
- For the CLASS of 2021, the FIRST slide will be published to social media and gives you an opportunity to talk about YOU. Davis has provided you with a sample.
- The SECOND slide will be used at GRADUATION…Talk about your future plans and Davis will add your senior portrait.
