Work-based learning (WBL) is an educational strategy that provides students with real-life work experiences where they can apply academic and technical skills and develop their employability.
School-wide WBL Experiences
Students in all academies listen to a panel of speakers to understand about careers in Arts and Entertainment, Medical Science, and Engineering. Students practice dressing professionally
Students in the 10th grade participate in Speed Interviewing, where they practice interviewing skills. Students attend workshops all day to practice interviewing skills, write resumes, research colleges, and discuss professionalism.
Students in the 11th grade attend an Internship Bootcamp. Students hear from guest speakers, re-write their resume, understand how to apply to college, and practice professionalism.
Students in the 12th Grade participate in Mock Interviews with AERA Energy.
